With friends coming over from Ireland to visit the first thing that popped into my head was of course – where are we going to eat?
There’s never a better reason than friends staying to eat out and it was a great excuse to try somewhere new on my (quite extensive) list. We plumped for Chop Shop which I was really excited about as I’ve only heard good things and hell, who doesn’t like chops?
It turned out to be a great choice, really relaxed with delicious cocktails and stunning food – an all round win.
We shared starters of duck liver mousse, crab and avocado marie rose, meatballs and hot wings with a blue cheese sauce. The duck was exceptional but I would choose the hot wings again every time!
For our main courses no one could resist a steak which we had with creamed spinach (obviously), rosemary chips and cheesy leeks which were the unexpected dark horse – so tasty.
No one had any space left for pudding but I’ll definitely be going back at some point for the peanut butter and chocolate fudge brownie!
